CCCA's approach

Australia is home to the oldest continuous living culture in the world. This is a heritage which all Australians share and are all responsible for nurturing and sustaining. We have an opportunity and an obligation to learn from the past to reconcile for a better future.

We recognise that economic participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples provides a real path to reconciliation and we specialise in uncovering shared value opportunities for Indigenous communities, corporate organisations and government agencies.

We also help to define and communicate how policies and programs make a tangible difference in Indigenous communities.

Most importantly we capture a genuine Indigenous voice to inform policy and program design.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural competence training

CCCA will work with your organisation to assess your organisation’s cultural competence needs, as well as your staff’s current and desired cultural capability. CCCA will identify the knowledge gaps and facilitate the development of your cultural learning pathway.

CCCA develops fit for purpose training strategies and learning solutions that utilise existing courses and resources where appropriate to minimise costs. Our services include strategic planning and modelling, curriculum and pedagogy management, content development, competence mapping, accreditation and project management.

Community consultation and engagement (deep listening)

CCCA has extensive community consultation experience which underpins effective program development and implementation. Our approach is based on ‘Deep Listening’ which ensures that genuine Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard and represented in our solutions. Our services include community stakeholder mapping, partnership brokerage, consultation plan design, consultation management and report writing.

Co-design and development of cultural appropriate and trauma-informed policy, programs and service delivery

CCCA builds de-colonising practices into its solutions to support an enhancement and understanding of how white privilege continues to impact the way Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples experience historical and current trauma.

CCCA helps organisations and staff understand what trauma is, explore trans and inter-generational trauma and understand how it manifests. Building empathy with Stolen Generation survivors, exploring survival capacity and what supports resilience is at the heart of how CCCA creates trauma-informed workforces, policies, programs and service delivery. Our services include stakeholder engagement, social research, training design and content development (eLearning and face-to-face), workshop design, reporting and recommendations.

Cultural competence/capability frameworks

CCCA works with organisations to design and develop practical cultural capability frameworks, supported by easy-to-implement to implement training solutions and learning pathways. Frameworks are designed to identify the capabilities that will drive change within the organisation and support culturally appropriate workplaces, workforces, policies, practices and service delivery all of which are designed to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
